Restorative Dentistry
  • Amalgam-free Fillings—New and Replacement
While we love checkups after which we can tell you “you have no cavities,” when you do need a filling, we’ll make sure you’re comfortable during the process…and no one will ever know you had dental work done. That’s right, we don’t use amalgam (what you may think of as silver) at all in our office; we use resin/composite that’s white to match your teeth.

In addition to doing new fillings, we also fulfill many requests to replace older, “silver” fillings with “white” ones. Only your dentist needs to know what restorative work has been done to your teeth.
  • Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)
We know you don’t want to hear those dreaded words, “you need a root canal,” but this procedure is necessary if your tooth has decay that has penetrated the nerve and an infection has started. The latest techniques and instruments have made root canals very painless and quick…and saving your tooth is a better choice than the alternative.
  • Crowns
Ceramic, natural looking crowns can correct any number of tooth issues to create beautiful smiles. We use state-of-the-art, high strength, metal-free crowns that look like your own teeth, and since no lines will be visible at your gum line…no one will know your smile is part ceramic!

We may recommend crowns as part of restorative procedures, or you may consider them if you want to:

    • Correct spaces between your teeth
    • Repair chipped or broken teeth
    • Restore permanently discolored teeth
    • “Fix” misshapen or crooked teeth
  • Replacing Missing Teeth
You have three choices if you need to replace missing teeth: bridges, dentures and implant dentistry. After reviewing your specific situation, we’ll help you decide the option that’s most likely to provide you with the best long-term results.

    • Bridges. Conventional and cantilever bridges involve the healthy teeth surrounding the missing one, which receive crowns that are attached to an artificial tooth. With proper hygiene, it’s not uncommon for bridges to last from 10 to 20 years.
    • Dentures. Denture technology has come a long way, so whether you need full dentures (if you’ve lost all your teeth) or a partial denture (if you’ve lost several teeth), no one will be the wiser. Today’s dentures are designed with comfort and functionality in mind.
    • dental_implant.gifImplants. Dental implants, small prosthetic posts placed into the bone of the jaw to replace the root portion of a missing tooth, serve as anchors for replacement teeth that are so natural that no one (except maybe Dr. Nottoli) will be able to tell the difference. There are many different types of dental implants available and our office has extensive experience creating winning smiles for patients with them.
